Blue, See is about the children of the Ibis school in Ostend, Belgium. The Ibis is a boarding school where children are placed because of behavioural problems or disadvantaged situations at home. The children are trained to become fishermen and mariners, to help them develop discipline and add structure to their lives. I have tried to focus on the relationships between the boys as they study and live at Ibis and how their experiences make them closer as they form a new family of their own.
